Okay cause I'm supposed to be in bed keeping it up, I'll give everyone to quick version. I have whats called neuropothy, which is nerve damage in my feet, you get it from being a diabetic a very long time, it has to do with bad circulation, not only that but when I get really anemic, and I always am ( normal hemoglobin -blood count basically- is 13 to 15 mine has not been over 10 in three years, even after receiving blood and IV iron.) the feet kinda get screwed because they are so far from the heart, when your low on blood. Anyways basically I can't feel anything in my feet, it throws off me balance also, because you don't know where your placing your feet you fall, alot. ANYHOW, on Saturday I fell down the friggin stairs again, and managed to tear off over half of the toenail on my little toe. Put a band-aid on it, and called my foot doctor. Went on Tuesday to my IV iron and stopped at the store and bought a pair on toe nail clippers, my toenails never grown anyways so I just use scissors, but wanted a nice, sharp pair of clippers to trim the crooked, part of the little toe, so it wouldn't snag on my sock and get torn completely off. Well, I'm busy clipping while watching TV, clip, clip clip. Then I hear, pat, pat, pat, look at the dogs to see if they are drinking, nope, check to faucet to see if it's leaking nope. So I go to the bathroom ( white tile, white rugs no less) and notice I'm standing in a puddle of blood. Well, okay, it wasn't coming from the nail, so I figured I pinched the skin, put two band-aids on it, and clean up the bloody trails I left from the kitchen. 6 band-aids, (4)-4 x 6 inch non- stick gauze pads and 2 paper towels later, it still hasn't stopping, not only bled through all that but was dripping blood, like rain. Hop down to my Mom's, and say " I'm bleeding to death, what did I do to my toe" she looks and says " You cut off the tip you idiot".So off the the ER, nothing to stitch, they used this tape type stuff, a huge blob of gauze, and put an ice pack on it. I'm supposed to keep it up so it doesn't pop open, and take antibiotics for a week. My foot doctor said " No more sharp utensils for you!!" Hehe, I got pain pills too..this is why I'm the Fallen Angel of Persecution....good to laugh at myself.
